Extended Access Technologies (EAT) business unit is seeking an experienced problem solver who likes change and innovation while successfully leading a team.

EAT is a leading provider of embedded RFID and mobile card reader technologies, and biometric products and solutions. The BU leverages core technologies, tools and expertise from across HID Global and a wide range of global partners to embed trust into the world’s digital devices using innovative authentication technologies.

The Director of Card Reader Product Management/Marketing will lead the complete product portfolio and marketing mix of the card reader product line, including products, pricing, positioning, channels and other aspects of the go to market strategy. In addition, this global role owns the card reader product and services roadmap including current offerings and the definition and prioritization of future products and solutions. This role also defines target markets, key applications and customers (both end users and integrators), plus how the products and solutions are delivered, and key differentiators. This role requires close collaboration with other functions including sales, engineering, operations, marcom, pre-sales/tech support and business development to ensure successful new product introductions, support for existing products, and operational efficiency.
Success in this role requires considerable (5 years plus) domain experience in the particular segment/similar role at an international level.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Lead and manage global team of Product Managers and Product Marketing Managers.
Act as voice of the customer for partners and end users in target markets and use cases
Drive new product development with engineering and program management using HID approved processes and tools, aligning team activities with business priorities.
Understand and drive customer, partner and end user engagements with our products, solutions and services throughout their lifecycle (incl. pre and post launch/adoption)
Collect, analyze, and report on market needs and trends based on user and channel inputs and competitive and industry analysis, to prioritize inputs to the product roadmap.
Drive customer product education. Be the center of competency for market knowledge, sizing, and customer data. Collect, organize and share factual competitive information.
Regularly capture, review, validate and prioritize requests for new products/services, ensuring the activities are aligned with customer needs and emerging market trends.
Create the product, solution and services market requirement documents (MRD)
Manage the card reader portfolio to ensure it remains competitive and profitable, including collaboration with HID Operations for SKU cost competitiveness.
Support HID’s efforts to grow its mobile credential market share with a portfolio of finished and embedded products that support complimentary partner offerings.
Define and implement channel strategies with sales and marcom to drive growth.
Develop clear and concise vertical markets and regional marketing plans with value propositions and go-to-market strategies that support channels and OEM partners.
Analyze and understand a 3-5 year market viewpoint with business development, and help influence external analysts to understand and value HID Global’s strategic direction.
Monitor and contribute to industry innovations, standards and associations related to card reader products and mobile credential technologies.
Develop and execute product and solution launches with marcom, including creating assets that define end user needs, buyer personas, target markets, product positioning, sales training, partner/channel presentations, pricing and promotions.
Review and regularly report on product line and geographical business performance including revenue, product mix, ASP, cost and margin trends. Advise the business unit on improvements that grow revenues and profitability.

Minimum 5+ years product management/marketing experience in related technologies, and 10+ years of total experience in technology-related product management/marketing roles Prior experience managing employees is strongly preferred.
Must have knowledge of a minimum of three of the following technologies / product areas: USB contact and contactless card readers, embedded contactless card readers, mobile credential technology (HID Mobile Access preferred), endpoint encryption, BLE, NFC.
Knowledge of contactless card technologies (125 KHz Prox, ISO 14443/15693), with project implementation experience preferred.
Knowledge of mainstream OS’s preferred including; Windows, Linux, Android, iOS.
Knowledge of vertical markets including enterprise, finance, healthcare, government.
Knowledge of use cases including time-attendance, secure print, logical access and others.
Experience successfully conducting and presenting market research and analysis, with Voice of the Customer interviewing and analysis experience preferred.
Strong written and verbal skills, and ability to deliver face-face and on-line presentations.
Capable of establishing credibility with global sales team, end user customers and partners.
Should have formal experience in a structured product development process.
Proven team management experience in product management and/or product marketing.
Multi regional at minimum & preferably global market experience.

Education and/or Experience
Technical Degree – Engineering or Computer Science preferred or related experience.
Business Degree – Marketing or Business Administration or related experience.

Language Skills
Ability to effectively communicate in the English language, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to read and interpret customer RFI/RFP’s, specifications, technical standards, etc.
Additional major international languages a plus.
Computer Skills

Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Familiar with operating systems, such as Windows, etc.
