The Role

We are looking for a Product Marketing Manager for our Consumer Authentication Business Unit

We are actively looking for someone to help our newly formed Business Unit exceed and overachieve against our goals.  We cannot do this alone and as such we are looking for the right person to own and drive our solutions messaging both internally and to the outside world.

This may sound simple but in reality it means that you will be responsible for the business unit’s vision for banking and consumer authentication, own the relationships between Product Management, Marketing and the Sales organization whilst also ensuring that our strategic direction is aligned with the needs of the markets.

You will need to understand, define and interact with the buying personas for the banking and consumer authentication market whilst providing the content to create the marketing materials needed to support the marketing and sales teams.  Our expectation is that you understand the drivers behind secure customer authentication (specifically in regulated industries such as banking).  Whilst you may not be an expert in the field of consumer authentication today – you will become one whilst at the same time demonstrating your creative flair.

You will soon be dreaming about ISO27001, SOC2, Open Banking, GDPR, FIDO, PSD2, PCI-DSS, OAUTH and understand the details of these standards – but the job is not that – the job is understanding what the market and the buyer needs in order to determine how we successfully communicate, position, and promote WHY customers should select HID and WHAT value add we bring to the market over the competition.

In addition to this you will use the knowledge and experience you develop to help establish new strategic relationships in order to support our continued growth whilst also owning the competitive analysis to help and support the sales organization. 

You will do this, whilst at the same time educating the sales and products teams (yes, this is hard – but not impossible) on the future of the authentication market, helping us to prepare for the coming years by aligning with the market and industry trends.

We expect you to own this role and as such we are looking for an ambitious creative individual who is willing to embed themselves in this rapidly growing industry.  Importantly the successful applicant needs to be self-assured, driven and willing to innovate and do things differently.  You must excel at communicating, collaborating, organizing, developing and managing creative solutions marketing material.

Finally, we want you to own and develop analyst relationships to ensure that HID Authentication solutions appear in the analyst reports.

Duties and Responsibilities (yes there are some of those) include the following.

Your role is to help grow HID Global’s presence and sales in the consumer authentication market.  You will work in collaboration with Product Management, Sales, Marketing and most importantly our customers to help achieve our goals.  Your responsibilities include:

  • Defining and creating solution messaging and positioning for HID’s consumer authentication products; working with all relevant functions to execute. Champion HID’s consumer authentication positioning, strategic technology and validate market messaging, while being able to evangelize HID’s consumer authentication solutions offerings both internally and externally.
  • Continuously learning, developing and maintaining in-depth knowledge and understanding of the CIAM (consumer identity and access management) market space, products and service offerings, including value proposition, features, functionality, competitive landscape and the verticals and use cases where they are relevant.
  • Deep understanding of banking and consumer authentication buyers persona’s and how to develop and target messaging to each identified key persona.
  • Working alongside the product and sales teams to understand the market challenges of the world’s largest banking and financial services organizations, and how all of HID’s products come together to solve their challenges.
  • Delivering key messages that enable our marketing and sales teams to execute relevant strategic campaigns and programs.
  • Collaborating on plans and build support content for state of the art digital and field-based demand generation programs that result in pipeline for the sales organization. 
  • Providing sales enablement and opportunity support to the sales team to help solve customer challenges with the wider HID solutions set.
  • Participate in (and present at (if you’ve read this far, we can assume you have no worries of stage fright!)) industry events and promotional activities as the leading HID IAMS subject matter expert for Banking and Consumer Authentication.
  • Owning, Driving and maintaining analyst relationships to ensure that HID Consumer Authentication products appear in the magic quadrants.
  • Analyzing and reporting on the success/failures of marketing initiatives in a timely manner in order to allow us to make any required changes to drive success.


What You Need for This Position

Firstly an open mind, willingness to learn and a drive to succeed. You need to be strong willed, organized and want to own the marketing message.  You will have experience in the banking market and a strong willingness to expand your knowledge and understanding to the recent evolutions and possibly adjacent markets

As the successful candidate, you will have a proven and verifiable track record in Product Marketing, Solution Marketing or Communications.  You need to be comfortable developing, implementing and managing product launch and promotional marketing initiatives for the software industry in a global environment. Being receptive to vertical and local market nuances, with the ability to work effectively and efficiently with a globally disperse team, is a must.

You will be results oriented and highly self-motivated, with the ability to work as an individual contributor and as a cross-functional project manager/leader.  Your “can-do attitude”, strong communication and presentation skills, and the ability to engage with senior management and customers will serve you well.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, marketing or equivalent with 10 plus years of recent and relevant product marketing experience.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years in the financial services/banking consumer (end-customer) authentication software industry, specifically marketing multi-factor authentication, network security or identity management software solutions. 
  • Proven track record of successful product and/or solution launches and promotional campaign development.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.


Language Skills         

  • Good inter-personal and communication skills in both spoken and written English. The ability to also communicate in German, French or Spanish would provide the candidate with a strong advantage.


Work Location

  • The employee may be home or office based and expected to travel for their work

  • International travel will be required; therefore, employee must possess or can acquire a valid passport.
