A Senior Software Engineer at IdenTrust is responsible for designing and developing new applications, enhancing existing applications, solving problems, and resolving defects. The Engineer will review requirements, develop the architecture and design of features (including the relevant documentation), develop application prototypes, participate in design and code reviews, and program (including unit testing). The Engineer must be able to demonstrate technical excellence in his/her personal work as well as contribute to the team's continued success by sharing technical knowledge.

What you will be doing

  • Develop enhancements to IdenTrust systems. This includes requirements analysis, design, and development.
  • Provide maintenance on existing code. This includes product changes and defect remediation.
  • Provide accurate, timely, and detailed work notes and status.
  • Participate in change controls outside of standard business hours.
  • Provide a third-tier of support for the IdenTrust platform.
  • Play a primary role in product architecture design. This includes working with and integrating commercially off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions.
  • Operate as a mentor to other Engineers, providing an open learning environment for cross-team knowledge sharing.
  • Play a vocal role in design and code reviews.
  • Participate in creating and maintaining department standards for software development best practices.
  • Provide weekly reports to management indicating the status of assigned project work.
  • Must be a self-starter, able to work independently as well as part of a team, and have a proven track record.

What we are looking for    

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years Software Development experience.
  • A sound working knowledge of Java, JSP, Java Servlets, SQL, web development concepts. C/C++ helpful but not required.
  • JBoss, Apache Tomcat, or other servlet engine experience.
  • Experience Designing and developing web applications including HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
  • Experience with Software Revision Control Systems, especially git.
  • Experience with HTTP, JSON, XML and Web Services.
  • Solid written and oral communication.
  • Ability to keep up with emerging technologies and to utilize new technologies where appropriate.
  • Willingness to be available for off-hours Change Controls and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with PKI and Internet Security concepts/protocols is helpful, but not required.
