HID Global is looking for an experienced Senior Buyer/Planner for the IoT Services Business unit based in Fort Lauderdale to join our team. In this Senior Buyer/Planner of operations role you will be responsible for purchasing, planning, and inventory control.   

We have great customers, industry leading solutions, and agility across everything we do. This position is part of the Operations Supply Chain team reporting directly to the Senior Director of Operations. The role supports the development activity of new products from concept to commercialization. The Supply Chain Senior Buyer/Planner will work closely with Contract Manufactures, Product Development, and Manufacturing Engineering to understand the materials and suppliers required to bring a new product to commercialization. The Supply Chain Senior Buyer/Planner will contribute to the supplier selection process, analyze material requirements, place risk orders for the design validation, manufacturing verification, and initial production orders with key strategic suppliers.

The Senior Buyer/Planner will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse functions including receiving, storing, handling, and shipping and preparing of shipping documentation for customer delivery.

 

Our Senior Buyer/Planner supports HID’s IoT Services, Identification Technologies success by:

  • Works closely with Engineering and Product managers to understand all BOM raw materials that are new, unique, difficult, and differentiated components. Establishes an understanding on what materials are classified as strategic and what are commodity based.
  • Determines and communicates stockout risk, purchase order, material requirements to meet customer demand and product launch schedule.
  • Interfaces with the contract manufacturer or HID factory responsible for the actual product build and measure supplier on-time-delivery
  • Negotiates as required to implement product cost reductions on raw materials and components before product launch and support cost savings initiatives in the growth phase of a new product.
  • Proactive communication with suppliers, sales teams is critical to success.
  • Determines own practices and procedures under limited or no supervision.
  • Accurately identify, stock, and count stock materials, and non-stock materials stored in warehouse and production areas.

Who you are as a Team Player:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain management including BOM analysis, RFQ’s, cost negotiations, product/production planning, P.O. placement, and inventory control.

  • Ability to articulate and disseminate important supply chain project information to all levels of management, both internal and external, using all form of communicate tools.
  • Use clear communication to demonstrate product knowledge and articulate the importance factors to internal and external customers.

Your Education and Experience include:           

  • Strongly prefer a bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain with minimum 5 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years broad supply chain manufacturing procurement and purchasing and planning experience.
  • A highly motivated and enthusiastic self-starter with excellent organizational, communication, collaborative, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess strong negotiation skills with an ability to effectively negotiate cost, delivery, order quantity, payment terms and quality standards.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and understanding supply chain flows across international boundaries that maximize operational efficiencies.
  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on follow up and follow through is expected.
  • Knowledge of Supply management strategies and tools (e.g., Kanban)
