As a Engineering Manager, Peake in Engineering Department you are responsible for all engineering functions and developing physical access control products under the Peake Technology brand. The qualified candidate will have excellent English speaking skills and available for international travel.

What you will be doing

  • Development and oversight of high performance cohesive teams
  • Define and evangelize best practices for hardware and software development, test driven development, development processes, etc.
  • Direct key architecture and infrastructure decisions
  • Plan and execute development cycles in a mix of Agile and Waterfall environments
  • Measure performance and facilitate culture of continuous improvement
  • Provide high level test and conformance strategies
  • Identify patent opportunities and develop patent applications
  • Communicate platform, architecture and technical vision to other company leaders
  • Influence product strategy and roadmap
  • Personnel development and performance reviews


What we are looking for

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar technical discipline. MS or PhD desired. 10+ years of product development experience with 5+ years managing or supervising small to medium sized teams with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Experience with hardware development and regulatory compliance
  • Experience developing both UX and API-based products and services
  • Agile and Waterfall development processes and methodologies
  • Technical fluency; comfort understanding and discussing architectural concepts, schedule tradeoffs, and new opportunities with technical team members
  • Experience with modern team collaboration tools and processes
  • Experience with release management and deployment workflow processes
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build productive cross-­departmental relationships and motivate team members. Positive, can-do attitude and value collaboration a must
  • Embedded Linux experience a plus
  • Must be able to communicate complicated ideas to all levels management and staff and understand how to tailor messages based on audience. Must be able to author technical specifications. English proficiency is a must.
